The picture shows the third and fourth floor of the school. Four classes are in action! It is also the floor with the kitchen, dormitory, bathroom and the cupboards for the hostel girls. We desperately need more space!

Unique in Varanasi

Three hundred meters from the present building we are already constructing a new structure, an expansion of Little Stars School. We will get more classrooms and include science labs, a computer lab and a library. We will also obtain a small playground. Little Stars School will be unique in Varanasi: quality education for the underprivileged, from pre-nursery to grade 12!

The new construction will be the home for class 6 – 12.

The total third floor of the present building will be the living home for the hostel girls!

Thanks to many donators, money has come but we still need your help. To build in Varanasi is not cheap. The land close to LSS and construction materials are expensive, labor is cheap.

Building strategy

If financially possible we build first all the 5 stories: floors and roofs of basement, ground floor, first, second and third. After this we don’t need big, noisy machines anymore. The finishing follows the flow of the raised money. In July 2011 we already can start schooling in 4 temporary classrooms for class 7, 8, 9 and 10.

The new building is designed and supervised by K.P. Singh of Radha Krishna & Associates, Varanasi and build by contractor Rama Shankar.
